2024 Rochester Chess Open

This past July, I had the pleasure of photographing the 2024 Rochester Chess Open at the Mayo Civic Center. Hosted by Rochester Chess, this USCF-rated tournament welcomed both experienced and beginner players, with five rounds across five rating sections.

The air was thick with anticipation as players contemplated every move. The Mayo Civic Center was transformed into a battleground of minds, with intense focus radiating from each board. I captured the essence of this quiet intensity—the stillness, hands hovering over pieces, and players studying their next move.
